About Us
Odisha State Bureau of Text Book Preparation and Production organizes workshops/seminars on various topics in Higher Education. The Bureau had organized such a workshop on “Creative Methods for Promoting Reading Habits among Adolescents” on last 20th February, 2015 to sensitize the college authorities for promoting a “reading culture”. Workshop on the same topic will be organized by the Bureau in different places of Odisha in the near future. It is worth mentioning that the Bureau has been engaged in the preparation of blank answer scripts for different Universities and Autonomous colleges. Books for Joint Entrance Examination (J.E.E.) have been published in Mathematics, Physics, Botany and Zoology. The Bureau has produced books with multi coloured pictures based on text for neoliterates as per the order from Mass Education Department, Odisha.
The Bureau was getting grants from both state and central Govt. since its establishment in 1970. Fortunately the Bureau has become financially self sufficient and is functioning in its own building at Suka Vihar, Bhubaneswar which is known as “Pustak Bhavan”.
Odisha State Bureau of Text Book Preparation and Production marches on as a successful institution both from administrative and financial point of view. It has not made compromise with the quality of publication under any circumstances. It has become successful in reaching at its destination through the blessings, vision and guidance of the President and Vice President, learned authors and support of readers. The Bureau has been able to deliver its products on time on account of perseverance and dedicated commitment of all the staffs of this organisation. We have got the confidence that this organisation will continue to prosper in the days to come.
Odia language was accorded the status of classical language on 11th March, 2014. To commemorate this, the State Govt. has declared 11th March as “Bhasa Divas” which coincides with the anniversary of the formation of the Bureau. Accordingly, the Bureau rededicates itself on this day our commitment to support in achieving eminence in Higher Education in Odisha through preparation and production of high quality reading materials at reasonable prices for the students and academicians of our state.
